The dinosaurs were displayed on a mountain structure made out of paper mache. Walter used green, brown, and gray water-based paints to create the rock-like surface.

The backdrop was painted quickly without too much concern for realism to emulate the style of painting typically seen in classrooms.

In keeping with the spirit of a classroom project, Walter imagined that kids would have populated this scene with dinosaurs brought from home. Thus, there are a wide variety of styles depicted, from museum quality to, plastic wind-ups, and everything in between!
